Inclusive Online Instruction Webinar - Shared screen with speaker view
Can we capture the Chat so that we'll have all the shared links as well?
Good question! I think that could be done. We’ve also put all of our links for the day into the shared doc: https://go.unc.edu/shareddoc
Jade Bruno is a second-year MSLS student at UNC Chapel Hill who works in the Undergraduate Library as a Graduate Research & Instruction Assistant. Within academic libraries, she’s primarily interested in instruction and implementing equitable, inclusive pedagogy, as well as participating in collaborations with other student success departments across campus. A first-gen grad student herself, she has a strong interest in working with traditionally underserved and marginalized groups of students, and takes an assets-based approach to her practice. Find her on Twitter @jadembruno and through her professional portfolio. Jade’s pronouns are she/her/hers.
Nancy Lovas is the Entrepreneurship & Business librarian at UNC Chapel Hill, where she explores her professional interests of instruction, inclusion and equity in libraries, and critical librarianship. Her best days include a walk outside and a strong cup of tea. She holds a M.S. in library and information science from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a B.A. in economics from Berry College. Find her on Twitter @entrebizlib and writing at the BizLibratory blog. Nancy’s pronouns are she/her/hers.
Kristan Shawgo is the liaison to the departments and centers of public policy, sexuality studies, sociology, women's and gender studies, Carolina Women's Center and the LGBTQ Center at UNC Chapel Hill. She is on the University Libraries' IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity & accessibility) Council and chair of the library's IDEA Action Committee. She holds an MSLS from UNC-Chapel Hill, an MSW from U of I-Chicago, and a BA in Sociology and Psychology with a concentration in Women’s Studies from Drake University. I also like using timers so that students/learners can keep an eye on their time! They're easy to embed in presentation slides, even though I just quickly pulled this one up on YouTube
the timer is really helpful
we didn't hear it
It was nice to have five, focused minutes!
How do you embed the timer in your presentation slides JadE?
If you are using Google Slides, you can embed a video with just the URL of the video

Good question, Elton! They can be. I often send the (anonymous) Poll Everywhere responses to the faculty member
Cat presses wifi button on laptop and closes out my Zoom session
I planned a very visual heavy presentation but the instructor did not tell me that there was a completely visually-impaired student in class. Upside: I got to meet the student's service dog!!
Thank you Kristan =)
I've had to scramble for enough lighting for an ASL translater
Here’s a link to the slides again: https://go.unc.edu/NCLive-online-instruction
Nancy, what transcription service/software are you using?
