45:57
treat others as you want to be treated

45:58
Mute your mic

46:04
Raise hand feature is a must!

47:02
I've only really done instructional sessions, but try to encourage participation whether through hand-raising/speaking or through chat, and will pause screen share to check my chat periodically.

47:03
Get permission for recording meeting beforehand

47:24
Stay engaged! -- even if it means putting my phone on Do Not Disturb to avoid distraction.

48:17
Be prepared to help participants to troubleshoot audio/video

48:34
Yes- modelling with some instructions. I am finding out a lot that folks might not know all the features available in zoom and other tools

52:33
Silence is golden, but so hard!!

55:25
Wasted time

55:30
Annoyed that my time has been wasted.

55:35
Frustrated

55:40
frustrated--I could have done so many other things with that time.

55:40
As though I lost valuable time--frustrated and irritated with the planner.

55:42
Also wasted time.

55:57
I feel a bit defeated if I lead a boring/unproductive meeting

56:07
I feel drained

56:58
I find that a lot of people put the hot topic at the end so there is "time to discuss" but it never works out that way.

57:16
every meeting is valuable learning event. write notes.

57:54
'dig' nuggets of gold

01:00:00
I love the parking lot idea so that when substantial tangents develop, the appropriate participants can meet at a later/date time and include others not in the current meeting who should participate in that new conversation.

01:03:53
thank you!!

01:03:54
Does anyone have any tips for cutting off unproductive conversations or comments? I'm thinking of times when people get off topic or you get stuck and the discussion isn't moving forwarding. It feels rude to cut people off, but sometime you need to just move on to stay on schedule.

01:04:08
Thank you so much!

01:05:37
Thank you! Great suggestions.

01:06:59
I usually handle that by reminding us of the time/agenda items left and then will call on someone and ask for their input to help get us back on track

01:07:05
I usually try to draw some valuable kernel out of what they are saying. Make a point about it or affirm it in some way and then move to the next item.

01:07:49
that's a great phrase.

01:08:11
Very good phrase to use

01:08:21
Great suggestions!

01:08:51
That is great!

01:08:55
Super idea. They'll be more guarded next time.

01:11:15
So sorry, I am called away from pc. Thank you for excellent learning op. Very thankful.

01:11:28
In instruction sessions (specifically one-shots), especially over zoom, this is something I talk with faculty/instructors before the session-- what works with your students? They've given me good advice for different ways to engage

01:11:58
Thanks Mallory!

01:13:45
Thanks so much!

01:13:57
Thanks for the great presentation!

01:14:09
Thank you, Angel!

01:14:25
Thank you! Definitely not "boring"!

01:14:28
