RuralWorks! Internship Program

IES is working with manufacturers across the state to create summer internship opportunities for NC State engineering student talent. With the support of the Dean of the College of Eningeering and the Career Development center, we are able to sponsor student talent to work in rural areas for $10/hr through a program called Rural Works.

Manufacturers are using this program to the benefit of their short-term and long-term talent pipeline challenges. Some HR Managers are seeing these internships as 3-month long interviews, others are allowing their staff engineers to delegated project managers for minimal financial commitment. Our students from all engineering majors are being recruited NOW and performing above and beyond for IES clients.
